Am I strong enough? What if I don't have enough upper body strength?

Pole is a form of athletics and exercise. And like any other athletics or excercise, you start out at your level and build up to your optimum fitness/athletic level. The Power Pole Sports training system is specifically designed in levels with a progressive add-on format. You can begin at any level, even a complete novice. The way to become strong at Pole Sports is to practice Pole Sports. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Do I need an athletic background?

No, the Power Pole Sports training system is closely related to calisthenics. We will teach you each skill in the order necessary to progress successfully to the next level. Each class, each level, your strength, coordination, flexibility, and confidence will increase. It is a process. We will start from the beginning and build from there. 

What do I wear?

Shorts and a tank top or sports bra is most recommended. Pole Sports consists of many leveraged tricks and wherever your skin touches, you will grip. Wherever your clothing makes contact with the pole, you will slide. You are certainly welcome to wear leggings or layered workout gear, however, be sure to bring shorts in case you would like to change. Athletic wear is required. The Power Pole Sports training system is taught in bare feet, however you may also wear athletic gear (such as ankle guards) as you see fit. Also, you should remove your jewelry. Wearing rings, watches, bracelets and even anklets will impede your grip and may damage the pole, or your jewelry itself. Also do not wear lotion. This will drastically impede your grip.
